Classical Concert Guitar William Del Pilar Jr 1994
by Robert
(Milwaukee, Wi, USA)
East Indian rosewood back and sides, and a West German spruce top. These woods were expertly crafted into a wonderful instrument, fit for the finest music, by master craftsman William Del Pilar Jr. who continues to make guitars in Brooklyn, NY. The guitar is in excellent, (not mint) condition.
With a mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, gold and mother of pearl machine tuners, nicely figured sides and back, this guitar is quietly beautiful. It has an inviting well balanced tone with clear trebles and warm bass notes. It projects sound with fullness. With a smooth, easy playability, this guitar asks to be played vigorously and then softly to bring out all of its varied character. Lovingly played, it has developed a mature complete sound that is just waiting for its new owner.
William?s father also crafted master guitars. William Sr. once was asked to repair Andres Segovia?s guitar for a concert, and Segovia was pleased with the work. Segovia also had William Jr. play guitar for him. William Jr. has a love of guitars passed on to him that is evident in the guitar being offered for sale. Includes original hard shell, plush lined case.
