I bought this instrument for $3950 from Guitar Salon International in December, and am now needing to sell it. I am sad about it, because it is such a beautiful instrument. I recently put an ad up for $6000, being told by the GSI folks that it was probably worth around $7000. I am dropping the price in hopes to move it fairly quickly.
This guitar is heavy for a classical guitar, because the back and sides are actually doubled woods for strong projection. The top vibrates and sustains wonderfully, with a full concert voice. The guitar's voice is even and clear throughout all of the ranges. The aesthetic is simple and beautiful. It is great for ensemble work and would be perfect for transcribing lute music. Giussani is considered one of the best current European luthiers out there.
Pepe Romero has toured with a Giussani for orchestra work, and members of both the Brazilian Guitar Quartet and Guitart Quartet perform on Giussani guitars.
